3 Gifts that were Plan Bs

What 3 gifts that were Plan Bs?  A Plan B is not a first choice; if it is a gift that means the Plan B worked out well....maybe better than your first choice.

1) "Teaching" When I thought about not working in an office, at first I thought I would go back to school to become a child psychologist. It "didn't work out."  WOW!!!!!! Am I glad!  I cannot imagine doing anything besides being the Room14er teacher.

2)  Visiting Ireland.  A few summers ago, I was supposed to go to Paris, but my friends changed their minds. So I joined another friend who was going to Ireland, where I met the nicest people in the world, heard the happiest music ever, saw castles and drank tea with biscuits!

3) A study trip to San Francisco at the end of the year.  Is a Plan B, but I think we are going to LOVE ending the year on this trip.  We will see........

  1. 1 is that when I was skateboarding I was gonna do a kickflip but then decided to do a heelflip because I was already in the process of learning that trick

  2. 1. When I joined band, I was originally going to play French Horn, but Mr. Hull told me I would be better on trombone. I love playing trombone, now.
    2. When, in Monterey, we were going to go to a restaurant called Passionfish, but instead went to a delicious place, Fish Hopper, with great views and impeccable service, which was great.
    3. When my mom was driving to Mill Valley, and we missed our turn. We ended up driving through San Fransisco, and even crossing the Golden Gate. (Later my mom got a ticket for accidentally "evading the toll") Still worth it!

  3. 1) going out to dinner with my sister and dad- I wanted to go with them it was just the food plans. We were going to Yosemite Ranch for dinner, but it was to busy. Then we went to The Macaroni Grill, but my dad then decided he didn't want pasta for dinner/ and it was busy. So as our final choice we went to Five Guys.
    ( I guess you could call it a plan c )

    2) My birthday- This year I wanted to go to the beach for my birthday but it was going to be raining ( I don't really want to go if I can't be on the sand/playing in the ocean). So instead I went to river park and it was a blast!

    3) going on a walk with Tatum, Grandmum, and the dogs- it started off with me sleeping as normal, but then I hear,"Jillian, are you going to come?" I see Tatum. I said that I wanted to sleep but now that I'm up I guess I'll come. It turns out I had a ton of fun and now I go whenever I have time.

  4. 1- In third grade, I wanted to be in Mrs. Wagnon's class, but I got into Mrs. Gatewood's class. I was very disappointed, but by the end of the year, I ended up really liking Mrs. Gatewood. I am glad that I wasn't put into Mrs. Wagnon's class, because I feel my third grade year was the best it could ever be.

2 When my dad and I were house shopping, we saw this house that I absolutely loved. It was really expensive, and there was a chance that we wouldn't be able to get it. The rooms were really small, and the kitchen was really small, and it was in the wrong neighborhood, but I still really liked it. We were going to try to get it, until my dad found another house When I saw the other house that had bigger rooms, was in the correct neighborhood, and had a HUGE kitchen. I ended up liking it better than the other house.

3 At first, I wanted to play the clarinet instead of the baritone. When I saw how many people wanted to play the clarinet, I didn't want to have my dad buy me a clarinet because he already had to buy a saxophone for my friend. (Very long story) So, I chose the instrument that had the least amount of people, which happened to be the baritone. I am very happy with the instrument I play, and wouldn't want to play any other instrument.

  5. 1) I wanted to go to a music performance, but someone in my family dances, and so they have a competition to go to. It just so happened that the performance was just nearby Disney Land!!! So we will go there instead. (We have not yet gone. I am so excited, because we have not gone in a couple of years)

    2) Malcolm and I sometimes make movies together! We were going to do one movie topic, but we changed our minds to just doing a movie off of a series that we already started. It ended up being really fun and cool!

    3) When I joined band 2 years ago, I wanted to play the saxophone. Later I ended up playing the clarinet.

  6. 1. Instead of going to Sequoia National Park my cousins, siblings, grandparents, and I went to the Cat Haven. It was super cool seeing panthers, snow leopards, tigers, and even a lion. We got to see the lion a month before the sheriff had to kill it.
    2. Dalton and I over the summer wanted to build a submarine. It was going to be expensive and hard to build. Instead we were going to make a boat but we forgot about it. Now for Makers Faire Dalton, Tristan, and I are going to make the boat.
    3. For my kite I had made a small one that was heavy and didn't fly. Then my dad said that it wouldn't fly and told me to make it bigger and lighter. Now I am pretty sure it is going to fly.

  7. 1) My soccer team! I was originally playing under 12s, because that's my age group. I knew I'd probably play a year up next year, because the under 13s wanted me to play with them since I was at a higher level than my current team. My "plan A" was to finish that year with my u12 team. But as the year progressed, I ended up switching teams. I really enjoy my new team, and I've gotten much better as a player.

    2) My wonderful dog Obi One Kanobi- When my dog, Chewbacca, started to get old, my family decided that we'd get another dog. (as well as Chewy) My mom, brother and I drove to my mom's friends house since she had a litter of puppies she was selling. Our original plan was to get a girl lab. But as we were looking at the puppies, one started following me around! I picked him up and my mom and brother knew that we HAD to get him. I'm really glad that we did, even if he's a little crazy sometimes :)

    Chewy was a plan D!!!

    3) My cat, Zucchini! (animals seem to be plan Bs in my family) - My family never intended to get a cat. My brother, Ben, mom and I had always wanted one, but my dad is NOT a cat person. One day, Ben and I were looking outside, and we saw a fluffy black and white cat on our lawn. We thought it must be a neighborhood cat, but it kept coming back every day! We put out food for it, and found that it was very friendly. We posted pictures of the cat on Craig's List and on Facebook, but no one claimed her. My mom took her to the vet to check for a chip, but she didn't have one. After a while, we decided to keep her! I won't mention how Zucchini got her name, that's another story. But I'm very glad we ended up taking her in, and she's a wonderful addition to our family!

  9. 1) Four years ago we were going to go to Hawaii, but it was very expensive. So, as a plan "B" we went to Florida. It was super fun, because we have faily that lives there. So, i got to meet and visit many family members!

    2) My mom has never really been a dog person, but me dad didn't really care. So, we were planning on getting a cat, but then my sister went with my grandma to go get my grandma's dog. Then my sister saw Bella, and she fell in love with her. So, long story short...we have a dog!

    3) My fish French and Toast. In third grade I got two fish that I named French and Toast. They were goldfish that I got for a school experiment, so my mom thought they wouldn't last long. We were never planning on having any fish as pets, but then they came along. These fish lasted for over 3 years. It was very sad when the first one died on the fourth of July(possibly because of the noise of the fireworks.) Then the other died. We got home one day and it was on the floor. The fish either jumped out of the bowl or the cat did it...! Though these fish may have been a plan "B" they were very fun to have as pets, probably because I wasn't the one who cleaned the tank.

  10. 1.) I wanted to be in Mrs. Gatewood's class in 3rd grade, but got Mrs. Wagnon instead. She was amazing, and when she moved up to 4th grade, I decided to be in her class again.

2.) When I joined band this year, REALLY wanted to play trumpet, but I struggled hitting the right notes, so I went with trombone instead. I'm really glad I made that decision because playing the trombone is so fun.

3.) When my family went to the Cheescake Factory a while ago, I didn't know whether I should have the "under 12" meal or the " 10 and up meal. I was going to have some kiddie hamburger and fry meal, but then I decided to have a noodle, chicken, and marinara sauce dish. It was DELISH!!!

  11. 1: I was going to go outside to do the usual: climb trees, when it started raining. So I decided to dance in the rain with my cloths on. I have to say my parents weren't to happy about that but I was! I loooove romantic comedies (didn't see that one coming ;) ) so its like they go out in the rain for the person they love so I was just like "RAIN,RAIN,RAIN, DON'T LEAVE ME!!!"

2: Sort of like McKenna's, I accidentally got a real pillow pet A.K.A my 25 pound cat Radar. We went to the pet store and wanted to get a Siamese cat, but all of the Siamese were adopted. So we were about to leave when we pass by this cage full of tabby cats, and we see this teeny, orange tabby kitten trying to climb up thee cage while the rest were all asleep. There was no way any of us were leaving the store without him.
There's actually a second part to this story too. A couple weeks after we got Radar, we took him the vet and the veterinarian said "Oh, yeah he'll be a tiny cat." At this time he had huge ears like Dumbo. Next thing you know he's been on diet food for 5 years and he is as big as half of me.

3: My friend Alex and I were going to a drive through Jamba Juice place but it was closed so we went to an ice cream shop with her mom and didn't l;ike the flavors of our double scoop mango ice cream. So her mom kept on spoiling us with more and more ice cream. At that time we were just stuffed but kept eating. BEST SUGAR HIGH EVERRR!!!!!

  12. 1) I day my parents said I could have a Dog and ran to the computer and searched for some puppies for sale. When I found a puppy for sale my family and I drove to the ranch to buy it. I wanted a puppy but the one I wanted was already sold so I bought my dog, Lucky.

  13. 1. When I was still at Figarden, my mom wanted me to go to Dailey Elementary Charter School. But then I was excepted into Manchester G.A.T.E. so I went here!

    2. My favorite Fro Yo place closed at Edwards Cinemas and I was really bummed out. But luckily, another really good place closer to us opened up so we went there.

    3. So when we were returning from New York over the Summer, our we missed our flight home from LA. The people there helped us by giving us a hotel trip for free at Westin. The next day we returned home smoothly. By the way, we took advantage of that hotel trip by swimming and eating some food.

  14. 1) A few months ago I really wanted a computer but after a lot of looking, I relized I don't have enogh money. I wasn't sure about it at first but I really like the ipad. I was super excited when it first came but after about a week it stoped working. I got so nervous and we ent it back and they fixed it and when I got it back, I was nervous but excited! "What if it doesn't work? What if it's worse?" A bunch of these thoughts ran through my head. But then, After about two weeks it did the same thing and it broke down. I was REALLY disappointed, untill my dad found out he could fix it. He ordered the part for my ipad (the screen) but before said, " Instead of black or white would you like a diffrent color?" I told him yes and would love to get a pink one. So, once this part comes in the mail, I will have a ipad with pink bordering the screen!!!

    2) For my 11 Birthday I really wanted to go to Laser Tag. I always have loved Laser Tag and thought it would be cool to run around in the dark shooting lasers at people. After a lot of thinking I thought and thought and decided I want to do something diffrent. I looked and I thought of Boomers. I wasn't to keen on the idea at first but my party was a blast. We got to go on the bumper boats and shot each other with water instead of lasers. We raced each other in Go-Carts. I am so glad we decided to go to Boomers

    3) When we first got our current dog, Raffiki or Raffi, we thought he would be an all out door dog.
While we picked up Raffi from the SPCA we relized that he was very active but can be calm. My Mom was gone and Raffi had snuck into the house. We didn't mind, but when we sent my mom a photo of the dog in the house, she was not to happy. She really didn't want to be vacuming up dog hair all the time. But we convinced her that he was fine inside and now we let him in alll the time and he has his own room by the back door with his doggy door and bed.

  16. 1. 1 year ago, I wanted an iPod so I asked my parents if I could get one for Christmas. They said it would be fine but later on, they decided it would be better to get a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2. That is what I got that Christmas that year.

    2. This past December, I wanted a Samsung Google Chromebook for Christmas. They looked into it and I found out that I had convinced them. But once again, they changed their minds at the last minute, and got me an Acer Google Chromebook. But I found out that it was better so I was happy.

    3. This school year, I wanted Mr. Gallagher but I got Ms. Ullner. I wasn't disappointed because she was my second choice and I had friends in there. Later on, I knew that she was the best and that Mr. Painter had made the right choice of putting me in her class. Now that I've been in Ms. Ullner's class, I'm glad I was put in her class than, Mr. Gallagher's(even if she does give out a lot of homework).

  17. (#1.) I was going to go eat ice-cream at Baskin Robbins but they weren't open so instead I went to this really cool place where they sold smoothies and yummy drinks.

(#2.) I would've lived in Canada for a long time and gone to school there with my best friend Loren, but instead my dad got a job as a pastor in Fresno, so we moved there and I get to go to Manchester! A gift for a gift.

(#3.) We were driving up to Canada to visit my grandparents, and we were going to go to McDonald's, but instead we went to this really cool burger place where they had soda machines were they had almost every flavor of soda you could imagine like peach 7up and grape sprite!

I was originally going to play saxophone or flute, but, the night my dad called from the music meeting asking which instrument I was going to play, I was so stressed out, I immediatly picked the first instrument that popped into my head. Now I am very happy playing the clarinet and couldn't be more pleased with my choice.

Like Ryan's, my favorite frozen yogurt place closed, but when we moved, we found a place that is walking distance from our house. I like this place way better, especially because it has a wider variety of toppings then the other place. It has these weird balls filled with juice. I beleive they are called bobas

  22. 1: I used to have fish in my ten gallon tank but I really wanted a lizard so I got a leopard gecko and i'm oh so thankful that I did!

2: I wanted to have a pale blue room but i'm thankful instead I got a bluish-gray, dark on the walls and pale on the ceiling.

3: I'm really thankful that when I went to the shelter to get a dog because if we hadn't, I wouldn't have gotten my Border Collie, Rosie, and she either would have died from the disease she had or she would have been put down because no one else wanted her.

  23. 1. I was playing a REALLY important piano competition and one of the songs I played was a duet with another girl named Melonie. We had worked out how to turn the page and I had to turn it but I was having trouble remembering. My piano teacher noticed and said that if I forgot to turn he page that Melonie could since there was a rest a couple beats after I was supposed to turn the page. We practiced that so it was even easier than when I turned the page! We ended up having her turn the page at the competition and it worked out great!

    2. When I turned 9 I was going to have my first sleepover birthday in my room, but my mom said it might be a little hard to fit 6 wild girls into my room. She and I thought about where I could have it, and then she came up with the idea that I could have my birthday in our garage! (after we washed it and cleaned out everything) It worked out great and now every year we have my Birthday in my garage.

    3. In Cambria, there is a restaurant called Robin's that my family always goes to when we are there, but last time we went it was closed for renovation! We ended up finding some really great restaurants that we had never tried before so now we have more places to eat that we know we like.

  24. 1. For my birthday I was going to just ask my parents for money that I was going to spend on useless stuff/junk.But my mom was telling me that maybe it would better to get a super nice bike so I could be more active. Taking my mom's advice I got that super nice bike. And GUESS what?!? I made really good friends with some people in my neighborhood.

    2. For one of the holidays, I don't remember which one, I got to chose a vacation to go to. So at first all that was going through my head was DISNEYLAND, DISNEYLAND, DISNEYLAND! But then my dad had just finish having knee surgery during that period of time, so I thought about how it would be with him always being tired. So instead I chose to go to Pismo Beach and we camped on the beach. It was the best time better!

    3. At the beginning of school my mom was telling me how last year, my backpack was always really heavy and I needed to get a new rolling one. At first I didn't want to because I though it was going to be a MAJOR hustle. Then I decided to get one and a couple of weeks later my mom was telling me that I got taller and my back was straighter. I sleep better because I didn't;t have to carry that load anymore.

  25. 1) I was going to play the trombone but then my mom decided I needed to learn a different clef then the bass clef so I chose the sax. It turns out that I really like playing the sax! Also, my dad, mom, and my grandma ( my mom's mom) all play the sax too!

    2) I was originally going to save up my money to but a laptop, But then my mom offered to split the cost of an IPad mini, so I ended up getting the one I have now. I believe that it was a goo desicion to get the IPad because it does basically the same things as our new laptops in class.

    3) My cello case was going to be purple, but when we were at the cello store buying my cello, my mom found out that my white case was a fourth of the price of the purple case. Because of this, I decided to save the money for a cool Hard case for my next cello

  26. 1)As a young(er) child I played the violin. I like to say I was pretty good. I was first 1st violin 2nd chair(if there were things like that is beginning orchestra) behind Emilie I believe. 3rd Grade comes and I am starting to have my mom give me "lessons" I never felt so in touch with violin. Later on in 4th grade i switched to saxophone. It was a plan B but I am glad I did it. today I am still playing saxophone and starting to play more(flute, tenor etc)

2)At first I wanted to go to Bullard Talent because my brother went there. That was my Plan A. At first I was like" OMiGosh! Must Go To BULARD TALENT!!!!" . Later on I was told about Manchester. At first i was skeptical but i ended up going here. Totally worth it.

  27. (1). When I took the Gate test at Malloch and got in, my first response was, "I don't wanna go to Manchester!!!" That was my plan A. Well, my parents said that if after 2 months I still wanted to go back to Malloch, I could. Well of course after just I few weeks I made the fabulous decision that I would stay at Manchester!

(2). Kind of like Emilie's, a few years ago, I wanted to have my first sleepover birthday party at my house. But after a while, we realized that it might be better to have it at my grandparents house. I ended up likening it much better, and I had a great time!

(3). In fourth grade, I wanted to keep playing the alto saxophone. But Mr. Hull convinced me into playing the tenor. I love the tenor, and I'm glad I play it.
