What did you learn today? Gwitter for Monday!

Please Gwitter on one, or both. of the following topics:  Kites OR life in 2029.

1) What did you learn about kites? Kite-making?

  1. I think that computers have a chance to be smarter than humans in 2029 if they get programed correctly. If it is true that robaots can learn from mistakes then we humans are DOOMED!!! Computers also will probably be able to eb more than one place at a time. Like possesing a diffrent robot divice of sort. This theary reminds me of a robot/secrurity system in a TV show called LAB RATS and he has multiple screens that he can be at around the house. Then the robots could be watcha you 24/7.

Here is a scary thought, a robot "Santa Claus"!!! Aparently Santa is watching you EVERY where you go so for him to be able to practilcle teleport is... WOW!!!

The other thing that I was telling Abby and Ellery about in class is it might as well be Star Wars all over again.

    MIND BLOWING INFROMATION!!!!

  3. WARNING: This post is long and rambling. You have been warned.

I think robots definitely have the capability to outsmart us. I think that there could even be a chance of a robotic police/military force, which would cut down on a lot of deaths and war casualties. There could also be news-bots, who are programmed to interview people, detect lies, report on television, etc. Highly-intelligent robots could cause a lot of unemployment, and like a bunch of people already said, robots could become rebellious, enslave or destroy humans, etc. That makes me wonder what a robot-run, no-human world would be like. That would save a lot of land, as robots don't need to eat, drink, sleep, go to the bathroom, etc. Which means, no houses, restaurants, hotels, etc. There might even just be small docking stations along the side of the street. Also, there would mostly be no cause for war, b/c they are robots, they would go through life doing their jobs, not trying to cause problems. Also, if they cause problems, they could just be shut off, though I guess that would be like killing them, and humans are uncomfortable with that, so why shouldn't hyper-intelligent robots be? Or, instead of shutting down, other robots could just re-program them to obey. I bet the robots would see no use for monuments, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, The Great Pyramids, The Taj Mahal, etc. Actually, come to think of it, they might convert the Eiffel tower to a giant radio tower, for broadcasting different things, news, weather (for non-water resistant bots), and things of the like. I wonder if the robots would keep the language they were programmed with, or if they would create their own universal robot language. Also, they could live in space (no need for oxygen) which would mean more space saving. Anyway, I kind of went off topic there. Life would be very strange with super smart robots roaming throughout our daily lives. Sorry this was long and rambling. Sorry!

    1. I think it's good that you rambled about what the world would be like with robots running the world. You shouldn't apologize for the post being long and rambling.

    2. Yeah I agree with Laura. Look at mine. You shouldn't feel bad about writing a lot. I couldn't stop myself. After all, I am the... spy!!!

    3. I never thought of that before! Wow, that was...interesting...!

  4. I completely believe that robots could be smarter than humans, but it doesn't mean they will be. I believe in the future it could be possible that there could be robots everywhere, or it could be possible the government will run out of money, or something like that. I wrote more about this subject on my blog.

  5. I can totally believe robots will be smarter because robots now are more smart than us. If we get more smart we will program our robots to be smarter and adapt.

  6. I totally believe that there is a major chance that hu, ans willmbe outsmarted by robots one day. What I think that is good about this Robot Apocalypse that it will happen in 2029. We will be 27 or 28 by then and many things will already be technological and we humans will most likely already to be adapted to major technology like this. The bad part is businesses or the government would most likely choose robots over humans and the robot population would increase rapidly meanwhile the humann population would die out. What if the whole world would one day be unifed under one robotic system/rule?!?! (Relating to Shi Huangdi)

    1. I meant " that humans will be " instead of "that hu, ans willmbe "

  7. I totally think robots could be smarter than humans. Even now some robot-like objects are already smarter than us in some way. Also, if there was something new to learn, they could learn it instantly. For us, it takes a loooooong time to learn certain things. It also reminds me of movies such as "The Incredibles", "Star Wars", and "Wall-e". In these movies (not so much of Star wars) Robots don't want to obey commands. So they have a fixed mindset (YAY Brainology!!!) and just try to exterminate their master. This would not likely happen, unless they are programmed to have feelings and emotions. But if they do have emotions or not, they would/could start a war! Similar to Star wars. If they do have emotions, then they will not want to have to obey humans, so they will try to exterminate us any way they can. If they do not have emotions, then some super rich guy (or lady) could just start a war with just robots! Then there are multiple ways both of those ideas could happen.
    1) They could send out Viruses that do damage to (no not the people) other devices that aren't as smart. (There are viruses already that can go wirelessly to other places using Bluetooth and WIFI that can do Physical damage to devices. Cool right?)
    2) They could send out Viruses (yes, the ones that can harm/kill humans. They could also do it indirectly, by going for all the plants that are edible and poisoning them, thus making the herbivores die making the carnivores die etc. Or they could just go straight on by sending out dangerous viruses that are contagious/harmful.
    3) they could just do an all out machine war. Since they are smarter than us, they can make their own weaponry and win the war over us; thus making us the slaves to the robots.

YES I know, I have a lot of thoughts about this!!!

  8. Although many people seem to think "oh yay someone to do my homework/chores/daily routine!" But I have a feeling that won't be the case. I think the robots will keep remultiplying until they have enough to over power the human races ending us into submission. My theory for what they would use the human race for: servants or they would just kill us off. The awesome thing about robots it that they don't need food or water, and they can live for eternity! So if they. Enslave the humans and prevent the new generation then eventually all the humans would die out and the robots would become the dominant race! You have been warned by Emilieeee the psychic!

    1. They wouldn't necessarily "live" forever. Like we are learning in Science lab, we will soon run out of sources of energy except for the little things that barely produce any power. So, they would not live forever, just a long time.

      Delete
    2. They will figure out how to use the resources, like wind and sun, or they will keep humans and let us reproduce normally all for the sake of sucking the life out of us for power.

      Delete
    3. Or they could use US as a source of energy. Think about THAT!!!

  9. Computers in 2029 will definitely be smarter than humans. Some of the computers are already smarter than us now; machines that detect illnesses before there are any signs of it on the outside. If robots learned they could learn about someone who conquered the world; Alexander the Great almost. Then they would get an idea in their little computer chips to conquer the world. Next they would turn all the other computers and robots bad. Then, since people aren't smart anymore, people wouldn't know how to kill a computer and they would conquer the world. Also, people wouldn't be smart anymore because robots and computers would do everything. Faith in humanity would be lost. Actually humanity would be gone.

  10. I have a feeling people are starting to see the robot revolution. I mean, the whole "please prove you're not a robot" thing you have to do before you post? Yeah. Creepy.

  11. About the kites…
Honestly making a kite was something that sounded interesting but easy and I've realized that its not! I was talking to a relative and he said that kite making was HUGE in China. I wonder how those people make those things. Anyway…
    About the robots…
I thought that it was really interesting the prediction that robots might be way smarter than us in 2029. The thing that is scary is that I will only be 27 with my whole life ahead of me, but I think it might be true!!! But really, super smarts robots could be used to our advantage, (here's a list of things that we could do with them):…
    1. We could have a perfect government, and get out of debt
    2. We could have robot chefs that could make us luxury food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
    3. We could build strong homes in days for the homeless
    4. We could have flying cars
    5. We could teleport
    6. And much more!!! :D
It could also be really bad…
    1. The robots would use as slaves
    2. They could give us viruses
    3. They could kill out the human rase as well as all other living things
    4. THEY COULD TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!
(not to scare you or anything because that was in all caps)
Having super smart robots could go either good or bad… :) or :(

  12. The thought of having robots frighten me because I think of the worse possibilities. For instance when I think of robots in the future i think that we will be in control for a while until they got mad of being bossed around and decide to TURN ON US! Then they will kill all humans and the world would be filled with EVIL ROBOTS.

    1. Wow! That would be very frightening if robots took over the world and all of human race...

  13. As I kind of said in class, I think that since robots will be smarter than us, they could figure out how to build or produce little kid robots. Imagine having a younger or an older sibling, but as a robot. Since they would be smarter then us, the robots would know how to make us really mad, but get away just in time for them not to get in trouble. (especially talking to the kids with siblings. The other are lucky this time) That is what really frightens me!!!!!!

  14. I think that by 2029, we'll all be depending a lot on robots, so much in fact that when they turn on us we'll be totally unprepared because they will have replaced us a soldiers and will cause another world war. What if we end up falling in love with a robot? Won't they live forever, do they even have a lifespan? Will they have emotions or will their hearts be as hard/cold as flint? Will they have hearts and metal limbs, are they cyborgs? Will they invent a virus that turns us into zombies so they can eventually hunt us down and kill us? What will be our average life span if the Robot Apocalypse/Revolution happens? If you know the answers to these questions, email me at x2kx@fresnoU.com or geekycentral27@gmail.com. ~Nelson27

  15. Well as I said today, a world full of robots would be a disaster,at least. I mean, humans would not learn, kids would go home and make their robots do the homework for them. And if robots were smarter than humans, wouldn't they wonder why they had to take orders? They would probably have emotions, and get fed up at having to do everything for the human race. They would first gain intellegence, watching our every move, studying us. And the ignorant humans will sit and watch TV while their world slowly crumbled, molecule by molecule. Then the robots would rise up and kill a great number of us to prove that they are in control. The remaining ones would be sent to work as slaves, digging trenches(I don't know why but digging trenches just sounds menacing and painful). The robots will control earth and realizing how crucial the enviorment is(because by now the petrol would have run out and they are running on sun power and wind energy) so they decide to save it. They will rewrite history starting from the first computer to whatever time the earth runs out of metal and cannot make robots anymore. when the robots eventually rust and "die" the human race will slowly rebuild itself over again. (Obviously this will have to happen several times before we can learn to not make AI anymore and just not Facebook anymore)

  16. Today I learned that you CAN make a kite out of rulers and duck tape. (I did this to help a little bird make her kite.) I also learned that you should always use balsa would when making a kite because if you don't the following scenario will happen: A girl named Avalon will try to fly her kite after school and her friend will run and run and run but she'll let go a second too late. Her kite is now trash since the two sticks broke.

  17. I think that robots could be smarter than humans and since they could rebuild their kind, they would out live us and take over the world! I am at Ellery and Abby's table and they were talking about it being like Star Wars with the technology. Since the robots learn from mistakes on shows like Iron Chef America or Chopped, they would win first place and get the money although I'm not sure what they would do with it.

  18. I agree with Natalie, having computers and robots that are smarter than us could be either REALLY good, or REALLY bad.
    Some good things would be:
(1). Super-smart computers could detect and get rid of any disease, big or small.
(2). Any natural disasters could be easily taken care of, and prevented
(3). Building new buildings could be done way quicker and easier.
(4). Of course there are more.....
But bad things could still happen. For example:
(1). There would be very, very few jobs, and that would be to take care of the robots
(2). Everything could change, such as having robot trees or plants
(3). Robots could take over the world and become the superior race.
(4). Everyone is battling the robots, like in Star Wars.
(5). The humans lose the war, and the humans are wiped out.
In the end, having robots smarter than humans could good, or bad.

  19. I also agree with Natalie, but in order to have robots NOT rebell and take over the world, we would have to program them to behave, and keep them under our control. We could have robot farms where robots would be in a non-violent and safe community, so they would be very docile and mild, then have them work on projects to help save the environment. Any robots that get out of hand will be.....eliminated. Another good idea to keep robots/computers under control, is to not give them feelings. Then they would not be passionate about anything, so no World War 3 (or whatever war it would be.)

  20. I agree with Amelia. If we started to trust robots they could immediately turn on us. They also could try to take over human race and be lurking around us to secretly spy on every last human. If robots are smarter than humans then why do they ask us if we are robots on google. If robots are more inteligent and can out smart the system, all they have to do is type in a couple numbers...that doesn't make any sense. If robots in 2029 will be smarter than any human on Earth, their ideas are endless!

  21. Making kites isn’t very simple. It actually is quite difficult. I used to think flying a kite was very easy but it isn’t. With a little move your kite could be flying down to the ground and break. I wonder how people have made huge weird shaped kites they can fly while I can barely make a small simple kite fly. China has very unique kites.

Now to the robots. I actually think they will be smarter then us. If they were to learn from their mistakes they will be very smart, more than smart, brilliant. I hope we will be able to teleport to other places instead of having to wait long car trips visiting Grandpa Bob. They might get tired of being our servants and turn on us. They might enslave us or just kill us all. Will this actually happen?

  22. I think that robots will be smarter than humans in 2029, because some robots actual can all ready feel and talk. For example: there is this game that PewDiePie plays which is with evie, evie is a robot on a computer that can talk to you (which is pretty cool). In youtube there is a sponsor that's name is ,Hybrid Librarian, which shows show pretty cool vids, but there is one called World's 10 Most Amazing Robots. That vid show the top ten robots, which #1 is the robot that went to Mars to get some info,it's name was Curiosity. Because of its cool and high tech it discovered that there might be water at Mars but it might be in caves. So that's why I think that robots will be smarter then humans in 2029.

  23. whoever said that robots will be beter than humans was wrond. they cant experience first-hand science. that means that they will have an automatic fail at really knowing what a heartbeet feels like. another thing is that they will NEVER outlive humans. they will never live. they are like moving statues.

  24. Flying kites are really hard. Today Ms. Ullner asked Kalen , Carlos and me to go see if we could fly our kites. Well my kite flew in circles and Carlo's kite flew in zig-zags. They never flew higher than Mateo's head.
