  1. One of the things I had so much fun doing was taking a ride on a cable car. It was so exciting Jillian, McKenna, and i were hanging off of the sides, wind blowing in our faces(and people telling me that they were going to tickle me).
I found it interesting how people lives in Chinatown are different then ours.
People there don't really care about you and it is very busy and hard to get through the city. While in Fresno it is calm and not so busy and you can easily get around town and a place where you don't have to walk so much.

For anyone who was wondering about the tickle situation here it is. A man was next to Amelia and started to ask her, "Are you ticklish?", then started moving his fingers back and forth.

  3. Walking around Chinatown was a really brain-stimulating experience. I loved going around and seeing the amazing sights. The lanterns hanging above the streets, the beautiful buildings, and all the lively people. When our group went to the art exhibition before the tour, I bought a print of a painting of a cherry tree, which is now hanging in my room. Visiting Chinatown was a great experience.

  4. I loved the experience that we got to go to San Fran Chinatown. We got to see many paintings of walls. And we got to actual see ghost man. I love when we got to go into the temple because now we know that Jason should keep on playin. That's why I liked about going to San Francisco.

  5. I thought Chinatown was a very interesting and wonderous place. I thought it was funny how a lot of people in my group didn't understand why people wouldn't move out of the way for you or how when the light said "walk" people could just walk right across the intersection. The food was amazing and I will never forget the look on Brooke S.'s face when she took a bite of the egg tart and ended up not liking it but she still put on a happy face, instead of taking the picture I accidentally turned the camera off and she had to take another bite for the picture! My favorite part was when outside the Good Mong Kok bakery there was a lady selling chinese necklaces and all of our group got one.

    7. I personally didn't like the egg tart. The weird thing with me, is that I'll only eat eggs in the morning. Any other time of day, I won't eat eggs. Unless it's like in something, like fried rice. Plus, everyone was telling me, "It doesn't taste anything like egg!" To me, it tasted like a tart of scrambled eggs. Keep in mind, this is just MY opinion, and I'm not saying that everyone shouldn't eat egg tarts.

  6. I loved the Chinatown field trip. I liked the architecture of the East West Bank. Is that how the houses were in China? Maybe that is why Moon Shadow said the houses in America were so dull. I loved the Chinese restaurant with its delicious food. What I liked the most was just the scavenger hunt because we had to find our way through Chinatown and sometimes got lost. The Buddhist temple was really cool.

Or "what are some interesting characteristics in this building I have seen in relation to other buildings close by?"

  8. The Chinatown visit was an amazing experience! I absolutely loved the bright, colorful buildings; they gave off so much energy! I also enjoyed the sweet smells and the press in the fortune cookie factory. Also, I had fun searching the Nike store for a bunch of items adding up to $100 with Audrey. It was a great experience and hope I can visit again!

  9. I loved Chinatown because it was a nice experience for me. I liked the kimonos and all the other Chinese clothing the people there were selling. I really liked the Chinese food we ate for lunch. Mmmmm! Yummy fried rice along with that delicious steamed broccoli! My favorite though, had to be exploring Chinatown. My mom, Avalon, and I had a great time going into shops and getting stuff. I got a bamboo painting of 8 horses and dragon wind chimes while my mom got a pretty kimono. I enjoyed going to Chinatown for over a hundred reasons!!! ;)

  11. I liked many things about the Chinatown field trip. One thing was trying the egg tart. It was SOOO GOOD and tasted like custard on the inside!! I am really shock and a little sad about how many people didn't like it. Another experience I thought was hilarious was when my group and I were at an intersection and an elderly lady was coming through. She stumbles over Giovanni and falls on me, then gets up an walks off giving Gio dirty looks and probably cursing at him in Chinese. When I saw her at a shop a while later, I tried to hide. A third thing I liked about Chinatown was the restaurant we ate at. The food was delicious!! I felt like our class was really mature around those middle-schoolers who were so loud that I literally straightened my back and put on a poker face as I walked by.

  12. China Town was a great experience for me! I found the different foods, cultures, and building interesting. The egg tart was a taste I would have never expected, it was sweet and mouth watering. Another thing I found interesting is the temple. I never knew that the Chinese religion was to worship three gods. The last thing I loved about China town was the architecture! I loved the way the roof of the pagodas were built to ward away evil spirits.

  13. I enjoyed the entire China Town trip. It was defiantly one of my favorite study trips. My favorite part was the time before lunch. We got really lost and was direction turned. We got to try egg tarts, a lemony pastry that tasted like cake, and a delicious bean paste type of thing. We found Que. hats and saw LOTS of panda bears which I could barley resiste buying. I also really enjoyed the tour with Ms. Lee and getting to see the Lee Club and learning about their medicines. The livestock in the markets were fascinating, but very gross. I took lots of pictures of the skinned fish with buldging, bloodshot eyballs. I thought the soft shell turtlew in the bucket was very huge and cool. The animal that creeped me out most was the frogs. I was afraid that they would jump up out of their bucket and cling to my face. I am really glad I had the oppertunity to go on this trip.

  14. The Chinatown trip was a great, cultural experience for me. The food was delicious. The egg tart was okay, but I loved the pork bun. We went to a lot of shops in our free time and even got to see an art exhibition. It was interesting to see the Buddhist temple, where, according to Yin & Yang and the sticks, I will not get a government job and Jason will get a career in music. Our group also saw this tree with lights for cherry blossoms. In the market, I was afraid that the fish were too fresh and they would come alive. Everything made out of jade was really pretty, but it was way too expensive to buy. on the tour, I got to see things that i probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. Overall, I think Chinatown was a great way for me to experience Chinese culture.

At the pharmacy it was a lot different from ours ,because we have medicine while they have things to make tea out of.It was really exciting to see a new culture.

  16. I loved seeing all the structures of buildings everywhere! There were buildings that were tall, skinny, dirty, clean, shiny, and my most favorite, colorful!!! Secondly, the environment. The people were all different! Maybe some were from other places, but still!!! There were happy tourist taking millions of billions of trillions of pictures of EVERYTHING, there were grumpy grouches that wouldn't give a care of anyone's business, and there were average people just walking/ driving around trying to get to work on time (even though it is impossible in some of that traffic). Thirdly, and definitely not lastly, is the food!!! (YAY) The restaurant was awesome!!! I liked the spring rolls, the chow mein, and even the tea!!! Then the don tots from the bakery were pretty good( the don tot is the name for the egg custard). Maybe it's just because I'm part Chinese, but I truthfully liked all of the food. It was deeeeeeeeeeeelicious!!! Overall, I think I had a great field trip!!! :D ( BTW how many exclamation points did I put? I didn't count. There were just waaaaaay too many. HAHAHA!!!)

I enjoyed hanging off the side and feeling the wind in my face, for this had been my first time on a cable car. I also loved seeing the different shops, with different colors and designs. One of my favorite shops would be the Fortune Cookie Shop because I liked seeing the cookies be made and when we got to eat them, they were so good!! My whole experience was absolutely fabulous, it was so fun and I hope I can go back again.

  18. Chinatown was amazing! If I can only put into three things it would be this.

    1. The Crazy Ghost man was the funniest part in the trip. It was really funny how crazy he was. I'm sorry to the man, but it was kind of funny.

    2. The delicious food. In Four Seas restaurant, the rice was amazing and so were the egg rolls. The Pork Bun was awesome too. It was just very well cooked and was very good. The Egg tart was very good too.

3.The last thing would be the statues and all of the pretty buildings. The statues of famous people and landmarks were absolutely amazing. It was also amazing how the buildings were constructed and decorated. The lanterns hanging from their ceilings, the gold carvings outside of the building, and the creepy faceless statues, all represented something.
I was really glad I went to San Francisco, it was one of the best study trips of all.

  19. I really liked the trip for multiple reasons. For one, I got to see a new culture. Another reason is that I was actually thinking about what I should major in for college when I got the prediction in the Buddhist altar. Also, the travelling around looking in all the shops was interesting. One of my favorite parts was the area where all the live animals were being sold

  20. The trip was great because of three main reasons. Seeing all of the prices of fresh produce was really cool and seeing all those live animals that are ready for butchering was also really cool. The Chinese food we had was really good and there was so much of it! another fun thing was the tour of Chinatown because we learned so much about Chinese culture. There are many more reasons I liked Chinatown but these were the best ones.

  22. 1) I liked how we had time to go around on the scavenger hunt, but it was really like browsing but in a more orderly fashion
    2) the Four Seas was so amazing! I loved all of the food but especially the egg roles and how it was a family style meal.
    3) I loved how cheap the produce was! I'm a big fruit eater so that was really fascinating to me

I loved seeing the market, with all of the really interesting fruits and vegetables.Beautiful architecture was everywhere, with the beautiful colors of green, red, and gold. It was amazing to go to the fortune cookie factory, because you got to see how they were made and how much time and labor it took to make them. I also enjoyed going in the Buddhist temple, because I got to see a different religion than what I am used to. Over all, Chinatown was a great experience.
